Are you ready to kick off the New Year with some fun, energy, and rhythm? Our Beginner Rock & Roll Dance Course is the perfect way to get moving, meet new people, and discover the joy of dance. Whether you’re a complete beginner or just looking to brush up on your moves, this course is for you!

Time: 6pm – 6:45pm (plus 15 minutes of practice time)
Duration: 6 weeks (extendable in 6-week blocks based on demand)
Cost: £50 per person

What to Expect:

A lively 45-minute class where you’ll learn the basics of Rock & Roll dancing.
An additional 15 minutes of practice time to refine your moves and socialise.
No partner required—come solo or bring a friend!
A supportive, beginner-friendly environment where everyone can learn at their own pace.

Rock & Roll vs. Ballroom Jive

Yes Rock & Roll and Ballroom Jive are both energetic, rhythm-driven dance styles, but they have distinct characteristics:

Rock and Roll:

Fewer steps, we’ll be focusing on the slower version of Rock & Roll (though there can be a variety of tempo versions) so even more experienced dancers might appreciate having another option when they need a breather!
Focuses on a fast, upbeat tempo often accompanied by iconic 1950s music.
Has a more casual and freestyle feel, making it perfect for social dancing.

Ballroom Jive:

A formalised dance included in the International Latin dance category.
Incorporates a controlled, springy technique with precise timing and posture.
Often danced to swing or jazz music, with a polished and elegant flair.

Both styles are fun and engaging, but Rock & Roll tends to feel more relaxed and spontaneous, while Jive emphasizes technical precision and competition-style flair. Why not try both and find your favourite?
