Adult Beginner Ballroom & Latin American
LearnToDance run three Adult Beginner Ballroom and Latin American dance classes throughout the week in Burnham (Sunday & Monday evenings; Wednesday lunchtime).
Our beginner classes are designed for complete beginners, with only a few basic steps covered per dance, and you can attend either with a partner or on your own.
Those that come with a partner are not required to swap during the classes.
What do I learn in Adult Beginner Ballroom classes?
LearnToDance classes run throughout the year and we cover the basics of 12 dances in a rolling cycle. During our beginner classes you will learn Waltz, Rumba, Foxtrot, Samba, Tango, Jive, Quickstep, Cha Cha, Viennese Waltz, Salsa, Argentine Tango and Merengue.
Each week the classes cover two dances, one Ballroom and one Latin American. With one of the dances being a recap of the previous week, followed by teaching the next dance in the rolling cycle.
What if I just want to learn one or two dances?
We do run 6 Week Courses in a variety of single dances throughout the year. Whilst these classes are aimed at improver leve you can always contact us to see if it would be suitable.
Alternatively, you are welcome to jump in and out of classes that are covering the particular dances you are after.
The best way however is probably via a personal tuition session with one of our instructors. These sessions are for up to two people and you can focus on whatever dances you want to or let us guide you.
I don't have a partner, can I come on my own?
It's not a problem at all to come to our classes on your own.
Below you can see our Class Timetable for the coming week. To see further ahead, just change the date at the top of the schedule.
If you want to view our printable class timetable click here.
You can also book yourself into any of the sessions using the ‘Book’ option next to the class.
If there is no book option, the class or course may be fully booked or the booking window has closed.
It may be possible to still book in but you will need to contact us to confirm availability.
Where's My Class Gone?
Those classes that are term time only won’t show on the schedule outside of Buckinghamshire school term dates.
Sometimes we may introduce new classes, or remove old ones, depending on depand and scheduling requirements.
Do I Just Dance With My Partner?
Those that come with a partner can stay with their partner all night - we don't force couples to swap partners.
What If I Don't Have a Partner?
If you don't have a partner that's not a problem. Although we can't always guarantee even numbers, we'll do our best to make sure you get plenty of dances.
Alternatively you may wish to consider our Solo Dance Routines classes.
Please note however that we ask you to please wear a mask if partnering our teachers.
Solos on their own will be asked their preference of whether they'd like to partner other solos (with or without masks) or are not yet ready to partner.
A coloured sticker is then issued so that all solos know who is ready to partner and who is not quite there yet.
How much do the Adult Beginner Ballroom classes cost and when are they?
