Instagram…student success

Many of you will know Matthew and Ellie from classes and social events. They asked us recently if there was an opportunity for them to try competing.

As it happens there was an inter-school medallist competition coming up and we confirmed they would be eligible to take part.

Originally we were expecting them to only be competing in a couple’s Quickstep and Rumba, but on arriving at the competition it turned out they’d also need to enter for individual Foxtrot and Paso Doble competitions.

Despite these unexpected extra requirements they managed to pick up 2nd and 3rd places in a number of the competitions, and have qualified for the grand finals in Blackpool next July!!! (Ps. look for details of a group trip 11th-12th July 2026 to support them).

Beginner Waltz Course Extension

The beginner waltz course will be extending from Sunday 19th October.

Our initial 6 week course covered the basic Waltz pattern and also touched on the Hesitation. Those confident in the basics are welcome to join the extension.

Places cost £50pp for the 6 week extension. You can book using the option below, or to reserve a space for another person visit the full booking system.

Tango Course Extension

The Tango course will be extending from Wednesday 22nd October.

In the initial 6 weeks we looked at general technique, and how it differs from the other ballroom dances. As well as some of the basic steps though, we also looked at useful silver and gold level figures.

Those confident in the basics are welcome to join the extension and places cost £50pp for the 6 week course.

Rumba Course Extension 3

Our Rumba course will be extending again from Monday 27th October.

Extension 2 was focused on Silver steps and we will continue this into the third extension, plus start touching on Gold level figures.

Those who are at least Improver level 2 are welcome to join the extension and places cost £50pp for the 6 week course. If in doubt please contact us and we can advise if the course would be suitable.
