Jive & Tango this week!

You’ll be pleased to know that Antony did a good job of tiling the floor and even little Oliver got involved in the grouting too!

On Sunday 11th October 12 of our students are going to be taking the leap to competition in an inter-school competition in Reading. If you’d like to attend spectator tickets are ยฃ19pp and bookings close Friday 2nd October.

Classes this week will be recapping the Tango and looking at Jive.

  • Tango
    • Beginner – Two Walks, Progressive Link, Closed Promenade, Rock Turn at a corner
    • Improver – Open Reverese Turn with partner in line, Progressive Side Step
    • Improver 2 – Rock Turn, Rock back on Left Foot
    • Improver 3 – Stylistic embellishments to Improver 2 sequence & Rock Back on Right Foot
    • Intermediate 1 – Outside Swivel Method 2, Reverse Outside Swivel
    • Intermediate 2 – Five Step, Five Step as a Reverse Turn
    • Advanced – Combining Intermediate 1 & 2 sequences
    • Over 50s – Rock Turn, Rock back on Right Foot, Back Corte
  • Beginner Waltz Course – Underturned Naural Spin Turn at a corner
  • Waltz Course – Outside Spin
  • Foxtrot Course – Technique of weight transference

Around The Studio

Price Increases

A reminder that our prices increased on Tuesday 1st September.

Going forward there will be a smaller annual increase on 1st September each year.

Reminder – Nightclub Two-Step starting soon!

Why not join us for a brand new 12-week Nightclub Two-Step course and learn this smooth, relaxed partner dance, perfect for slower contemporary music and romantic ballads. The course runs in two 6-week blocks at ยฃ55pp per block, with the first starting on Monday 21st September.

Medallist of the Year Qualifier

Why not come along and experience the atmosphere of a dance competition while supporting our Learn to Dance students as they take to the floor in the Medallist of the Year Qualifier? You don’t need to compete to enjoy the dancing and cheer on some familiar faces! Itโ€™s a great chance to see how these events work,

The competition takes place in Reading on Sunday 11th October. Tickets cost ยฃ19pp and doors open from 9am (first round 9.45am). You have a wristband that permits you to come and go as you please from the competition.
