This week we’ll be recapping Samba before moving on to Tango, the dramatic one.

Tango is one of the dances we note really resonates with people, and can be an enjoyable and dramatic dance. Just remember to keep your “tango face” in situ!

We also had our first group rehearsal with our dancers for our upcoming anniversary Gala next month. It’s starting to come together nicely and we can’t wait to perform for you next month. Don’t forget you’ve only got a week to secure your tickets!

Finally a reminder to ALWAYS ENTER YOUR NUMBER PLATE when arriving at the studio. We’ve cancelled a few tickets this week and have used up our allocation for the month already!

⭐ Antony & Emma’s tip of the week
To get the correct starting position of the Tango feet, start facing the wall (or backing for the follower), keep your heels on the spot and turn the feet 45 degrees anti-clockwise. You should end up with your right foot in the instep of your left foot, and they should be in this position every time the feet close.

- Beginner – The Reverse Basic, Whisks, Samba Walks
- Improver – Travelling voltas
- Improver 2 – Spot voltas (underarm turns)
- Improver 3 – Solo spot voltas
- Intermediate 1 – Maypole, from side samba and stationery samba walks
- Intermediate 2 – we actually focused fully on Foxtrot this week
- Advanced – Box in shadow with hitch, Maypole
- Over 50s Mixed Ability – Box in shadow with hitch
Rock & Roll Course – Stop & Go
Waltz Course – Progressive Chasse to Right
Salsa Course – Trading Places from Armlock, Trading Places with single hand hold

September Price Update

In case you haven’t seen it, our prices will change from 1st September.

We wanted to give plenty of notice, as we know nobody particularly enjoys surprise price changes.

Like many businesses, increasing running costs mean we unfortunately need to make some adjustments, but we’ve tried very hard to keep these changes as modest as possible.

Gala Booking Deadline

A reminder that bookings for our 20th Anniversary Gala at Dorney Lake on Saturday 4th July close on Saturday 20th June. We can’t guarantee the venue will permit any changes after this date.

We can’t wait to celebrate such an amazing milestone with you all.

Foxtrot Improver Course

Starting Wednesday 1st July

Our Improver courses often extend to 24 weeks+, so you can really start to develop confidence in your Foxtrot. With plenty of time dedicated to improving your technique too.

Beginner Waltz Course

Starting Sunday 12th July

If you’ve always wanted to learn Waltz properly—or know somebody who has—our next Beginner Waltz course begins soon.

Course Details

We’ll also have our Waltz Improver Course extending from Monday 22nd June. The course will be moving on to the Silver level steps on this extension and is the perfect place to start from for more experienced Improvers, and those of an Intermediate or above level.
