This week we’ll be recapping Tango before moving on to Jive, the energetic one!

Ballroom Jive can be fast and energetic, but we ease you in with the more relaxed Rock & Roll version.

Our Waltz course extends on Monday, and we start moving in to Silver level steps – so feel free to join the extension if you’re at least Improver Level 2 or above.

Plus this is your last chance to secure tickets to our 20th Anniversary Gala as the booking deadline is today (Saturday 20th June). We only have a few spaces left and it’s shaping up to be an amazing evening!

The Jive ‘bounce’ is created by actually bending the travelling leg slightly to dip down, and then returning to normal height as the weight transfers. Picture drawing a letter ‘W’ with your head if that helps.

Tango:
- Beginner – Two Walks, Progressive Link, Closed Promenade, Rock Turn (at a corner)
- Improver – Open Reverse Turn Partner In Line
- Improver 2 – Back Corte, plus looking at the technique of leading the Progressive Link
- Improver 3 – Open Promenade, with a Back Corte ending or a Progressive Side Step ending
- Intermediate 1 – Promenade Link, Cross Body Lead
- Intermediate 2 – Outside Swivel ending to Cross Body Lead
- Advanced – Release to Side-by-Side, Underarm Turn to Right
- Over 50s – Tap to Promenade, Fallaway Promenade
Rock & Roll Course – Spanish Arms
Waltz Course – Recapped last 5 sessions
Salsa Course – The Wrap, then with an Armlock ending

September Price Update

In case you haven’t seen it, our prices will change from 1st September.

We wanted to give plenty of notice, as we know nobody particularly enjoys surprise price changes.

Like many businesses, increasing running costs mean we unfortunately need to make some adjustments, but we’ve tried very hard to keep these changes as modest as possible.

Gala Booking Deadline

A reminder that bookings for our 20th Anniversary Gala at Dorney Lake on Saturday 4th July close on Saturday 20th June. We can’t guarantee the venue will permit any changes after this date.

We can’t wait to celebrate such an amazing milestone with you all.

Foxtrot Improver Course

Starting Wednesday 1st July

Our Improver courses often extend to 24 weeks+, so you can really start to develop confidence in your Foxtrot. With plenty of time dedicated to improving your technique too.

Beginner Waltz Course

Starting Sunday 12th July

If you’ve always wanted to learn Waltz properly—or know somebody who has—our next Beginner Waltz course begins soon.

Course Details

We’ll also have our Waltz Improver Course extending from Monday 22nd June. The course will be moving on to the Silver level steps on this extension and is the perfect place to start from for more experienced Improvers, and those of an Intermediate or above level.
