This week we’ll be recapping Foxtrot before moving on to Samba, the carnival dance.

Samba is one of those dances that often surprises people. It looks fast and energetic, but once you let the music take over, it becomes a really enjoyable dance.

We suspect there may be a few smiles (and possibly slightly tired calves!) by the end of the week.

Try not to look at your feet. We know — easier said than done! The more you trust where your feet are, the easier it becomes to dance with your partner rather than thinking about individual steps.

What we’ve been dancing

Foxtrot:
- Beginner – Social Foxtrot basics, a check in the corner, maybe a promenade walk
- Improver – The basic Slow Foxtrot pattern
- Improver 2 – Walking technique, and how that improves your Foxtrot and moving in sync with your partner
- Improver 3 – The Natural Weave
- Intermediate 1 – Hover Telemark to Promenade, Weave from Promenade Position
- Intermediate 2 – The Zigzag from Promenade Position
- Advanced – Box ending in Promenade, Whiplash, Feather Finish
- Over 50s Mixed Ability – Checked Reverse Turn, Fallaway Whisk
Rock & Roll Course – Leader’s turn during Push Spin (American Spin)
Waltz Course – Basic Weave
Salsa Course – Trading Places

September Price Update

In case you haven’t seen it, our prices will change from 1st September.

We wanted to give plenty of notice, as we know nobody particularly enjoys surprise price changes.

Like many businesses, increasing running costs mean we unfortunately need to make some adjustments, but we’ve tried very hard to keep these changes as modest as possible.
