Solo Jive Dance Routine

Solo Jive online video lesson thumbnail

We have put together a Solo Jive routine for you to practice in your front rooms. However if you’re looking for a lesson on dancing Jive with a partner, we did a Rock & Roll lesson a few week’s ago that you might want to check out.

We teach you the routine in easy to follow stages that build you up to a full choreographed routine. There’s plenty of opportunities to practice the routine throughout the video.

Solo Jive – The Dance

We’re going to admit it, this is probably the hardest solo routine we’ve released to date. Let us know how you find it, but you might want to prepare with plenty of water and a towel!

The routine uses mainly ‘actual’ Jive steps but we have adjusted them, to be able to be danced solo in a confined space.

Featuring swivels, basics, mooch, toe-heel swivels, flick ball-changes, ‘flicks and kicks’ chicken walks and stalking walks, flick and break. So just a few steps then!

The main thing is to just do your best. If you need more time to practice particular movements you can always pause or rewind the video.

Do it at your own pace, and then when confident, join us at the faster speeds.

The Music

The music for this routine is Walkin by The Furthermores feat. Annie Harris
