Improver Ballroom & Latin One Dance Courses in Burnham

Build confidence in one dance at a time

Ready to move beyond the basics and feel more comfortable on the dance floor?

Our One Dance Courses give you the chance to explore a single Ballroom or Latin dance in real depth. Rather than moving on after a few weeks, we build your confidence gradually — helping you improve your technique, understand how the steps fit together and enjoy a wider range of patterns.

Most dances continue for around 24 weeks or more, but are booked in flexible six-week blocks. That means you can see real progress over time without needing to commit to the full programme all at once.

Ongoing courses, booked in six-week blocks | Monday or Wednesday at 7.00pm

What is a One Dance Course?

Each One Dance Course focuses on a particular Ballroom or Latin dance, such as Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Jive or Paso Doble.

We start by making sure the key foundations feel comfortable, then gradually introduce new figures, improved technique and more confidence in the way you move together.

Because we stay with each dance for longer, there is time to practise, ask questions and make the steps feel natural — rather than simply trying to remember a new routine every week.

How the courses work

Each dance is taught as an ongoing programme, with places booked in six-week blocks.

Most courses continue for at least four blocks, giving you around 24 weeks to build your knowledge and confidence in that particular style. Some dances may continue beyond this where there is more to explore and the group would like to keep developing.

At the end of each six-week block, you can decide whether to continue into the next stage of the course. There is no need to book the whole programme upfront.

When a dance reaches a natural conclusion, we move on to a new style — giving you the opportunity to build a well-rounded Ballroom and Latin repertoire over time.

What will I learn?

As the course develops, you can expect to work on:

  • Clearer timing and rhythm
  • Lead and follow
  • Better posture and movement
  • Making the basic figures feel easier and more natural
  • New patterns and combinations
  • Technique to improve the look and feel of your dancing
  • Musicality, confidence and connection with your partner
  • Extra challenge as your ability grows

There will be plenty of repetition and guided practice, so you have time to settle into each stage before moving on.
