Waltz recap then learn to Rumba this week
Did you get a chance to check out the eclipse this week? We took a brief break from our Foxtrot course to head outside and see the show (you can see how we did further down on our Instagram link)
We’ve been working hard on keeping the studio as cool as possible during these weeks of heatwaves, and the general feedback has been that it’s been successful. So if you’re finding it’s too hot to cope at home, come down and enjoy some dancing!
In classes this week we’ll be recapping the Waltz, and looking at Rumba.

- Beginner – forward and back Change Steps, Quarter Turns to Right and Left
- Improver – Natural Turn, Reverse Turn
- Improver 2 – Basic Weave
- Improver 3 – Natural Turn with Hesitation, Double Reverse Spin, Progressive Chasse to Right, Backward Lock, Closed Impetus
- Intermediate 1 – Reverse Corte, Outside Spin
- Intermediate 2 – Left Whisk
- Advanced – Closed Wing, Progressive Chasse to Right to Contra Check
- Over 50s – Six Count Underarm Turn
- Beginner Waltz Course – Right Foot Change Step, Back Quarter to Right

Foxtrot Course Extension
Our Foxtrot course extends from Wednesday 19th August
The extension starts from this Monday, 3rd August, and is available to book now.
Souvenir Programmes Available
For those that weren’t able to attend our 20th Anniversary Gala, or maybe want additional copies of the complimentary programme, we have copies at the studio that are available to purchase for £5 per programme.
Just ask a staff member if you’d like to purchase a copy.
(also we are currently putting together a gallery from the evening as the photographer’s photos have now come in, so look out for that soon)
Upcoming Events
Bridgend Dance Weekend – Friday 25th-27th September
Our Bridgend Dance Break (formerly Bournemouth) is looking at Foxtrot & Samba this year, with a “Golden Age of Hollywood” theme to the Saturday night.
Places start from £265pp and bookings close on 25th August. We’re already over 45% booked and only have 3 solo rooms remaining.
