Slow and Steady this week with Waltz & Rumba
We’re recapping Waltz and looking at the Rumba this week.
Why is it that two of the slowest dances end up feeling the hardest?!
Actually that’s a good question! It’s because we need to make sure we exert sufficient control to our movements to not end up rushing ahead of the music, and that can be especially difficult when you first start out.
However we’re adept at helping you navigate those challenges, whilst still making sure you get to have fun in the process!
We also have coming up a FREE evening of dance classes in conjunction with the Angela Rippon-led Let’s Dance initiative on Sunday 8th March, more on that below.
Finally, we’d really appreciate any feedback on the new newsletter format. For those who preferred seeing the week at a glance we’ve reintroduced that image toward the end of the newsletter.
Oh, and check out our instagram post at the end of the newsletter for this week’s cushion conundrum…
This week you’ll learn:

• Controlling your timing
• Dancing with a smile
Helping with:

FREE Let’s Dance Day Celebration – Rumba & Foxtrot
Join us as we celebrate Let’s Dance Day 2026 — the UK’s national day dedicated to getting everyone moving with free Rumba & Foxtrot classes!
On Sunday 8th March our regular Beginner and Improver classes will be free to attend. Why not bring someone along you know has always wanted to give it a go?!
Social Dancing
A reminder that even staying for one extra dance after class speeds improvement massively, so make sure you utilise that 15 minutes at the end of classes.
Don’t forget we also have our weekly tea dances on Monday afternoons if you’re free, they even run on Bank Holidays.
Upcoming & Reminders
• FREE classes on Sunday 8th March
• A new month means a new deadline – book our Good Friday Afternoon Tea by 27th March
• We have a beginner Rock & Roll course starting 12th April
Bring Someone – An Offer For You Both!
Know someone who keeps saying “I’ve always wanted to learn”?
Bring them along and we’ll give THEM AND YOU two classes for £10 — beginners settle in much faster with a familiar face and we’ll take good care of them.
