Dinner & Dance Photos – Valentine 2022

valentine dinner and dance at Learn To Dance in Burnham. A number of people sat at tables and chairs eating.

After a couple of year’s hiatus, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, our Valentine Dinner & Dance returned for 2022.

We put our new(ish) tables and chairs to good use, taking advantage of the fold-out leaves to make the normally square tables round.

When we bought the chairs the wedding venue had offered us the matching chair covers. This was to be their first outing, however after setting up the room they lacked a bit of colour.

A bit of late-night searching later and Antony managed to find some second-hand chair sashes for sale in Cookham. Thankfully the person still had them available and Antony was able to run over in the afternoon to pick them up.

All that was left was for Emma to work out how best to tie them around the chairs, but with only a short time until students were due to arrive!

We think you’ll agree that they really helped make it feel like a special night at the studio. All the below photos are courtesy of Emma-Louise Walton Photography.

As our guests arrived they were welcomed by a chilled glass of rose prosecco (which Antony had taken great pride in arranging in a heart formation!)

Ok we don’t think any of the students actually noticed, but Emma was sure to take a few shots!

Positive Covid results meant a couple of last-minute drop-outs, but we still had a good number. We had prepared a table plan in advance and the atmosphere was amazing.

We had suggested students go with a hint of red…as always Antony took it a bit too far!

What was on the menu?

This year we were trying a new caterer, Dan’s Kitchen, a local chef with a background as a Michelin trained private chef. He arrived with an impressive array of equipment – including a portable oven so he could cook the prepared meals at the studio!

We were sent an extensive menu to choose from in advance. There were so many wonderful dishes and we eventually chose:

  • Parma wrapped chicken breast stuffed with a mushroom & thyme mouse; served with green beens and dauphinoise potatoes
  • The vegetarian option was a mushroom wellington with buttered new potatoes and broccoli
  • Dessert was a champagne & strawberry jelly with black pepper creme anglaise and rock salt glass

When is the next Dinner & Dance?

Following the excellent feedback we received on the night we are looking into planning dinner & dances for May and October/November. Details will follow as they become available.

We do have an afternoon tea for the Queen’s Jubilee on Friday 3rd June, and our Summer BBQ taking place on Friday 12th August. Full details will be released soon but these are already available to book on the events page of our website.
