Ballroom Refresher Classes

Has Covid crashed your choreography? The Pandemic pilfered your Promenade Position? Come along for our NEW Ballroom Refresher Classes! We’ve introduced these to help you regain your confidence to get back up on the dance floor.

These classes are designed as a recap of steps and moves spanning our Beginner/Improver/Improver 2 classes. The aim is to quickly bring back a level of competency lost over the last year of lockdown(s).

We will have two options running each week, a Monday and a Wednesday class, both at 6pm. They will cover the dance that will be the focus of the following week’s group classes.

Are These Classes Suitable for Beginners?

We wouldn’t recommend these classes to complete beginners. If you are new to Ballroom and Latin American dancing it is best to book into our beginner classes. Alternatively you could consider a Personal Tuition session with one of our instructors.

These classes are primarily aimed at our Improver and above level dancers who just need a recap.

How Much Do the Ballroom & Latin American Refresher Classes Cost?

The classes will be priced the same as our regular group classes, and therefore existing packages and sessions can be used.

If you are booking for a single class it is £8.50 per person. We also offer packages of 5 sessions for £38.25 (valid for 3 months); and 10 sessions for £68 (valid for 6 months). Packages can be shared between a couple, so the 10 session package would be 5 sessions for a couple.

What Dances are they Covering?

The scheduled Ballroom Refresher classes are:

  • Waltz Workout
    • Monday 17th May – Book
    • Wednesday 19th May – Book
  • Rumba Refresher
  • Foxtrot Follow-up
  • Samba Summary
  • Tango Training
  • Jive Jamboree (well it’ll be a Jamboree assuming Social Distancing limits removed on 21st June!)
  • Quickstep ‘Quatch Up’ (that one’s courtesy of Emma!)
  • Cha Cha Coaching
  • Viennese Waltz Verification
  • Salsa Schooling
  • Argentine Tango Assistance
  • Merengue Mentoring

How Do I Book the Ballroom & Latin American Refresher Classes?

You can use the direct links above (in the ‘What Dances’ section). Alternatively search out the date in question on our website or contact us.

You can book for individual dances, or a range and there’s no commitment. We do have a 24hr cancellation policy in place due to the restricted numbers under current government guidance.

All classes are limited to 6 couples and solo dancers are welcome, but currently no partnering outside of ‘same household’ is allowed.

What if lockdown isn’t eased on 17th May?

If the next stage of lockdown easing isn’t activated from 17th May (and we’ll know from 10th) we will contact those booked in. The option to take part in the course virtually will be offered. Alternatively you can transfer your booking to a different class or postpone.

Will you repeat the Ballroom Refresher Classes?

At present we only plan to run one rotation of the Ballroom Refresher Classes. However we will re-evaluate the situation if the demand to repeat is there, or the commencement date is pushed back.

We hope these classes will help you regain the confidence the enforced sabbatical has reduced. We look forward to welcoming students, both old and new, to the studio.
