Solo Samba Dance Routine

In this next video we’re going to be covering a Solo Samba Routine. Samba is the ‘carnival’ dance which would normally see you dancing through the streets of Rio.

In Ballroom and Latin American it is primarily a partner dance. However we have put together a simple solo Samba routine for you to practice in your front rooms.

The routine is taught in easy to follow stages that build you up to a full choreographed routine.

The Dance – Solo Samba

Our Solo Samba routine features stationary Bota Fogos, Reverse Basics, Whisks and Solo Spot Voltas to definitely get the heart pumping! If you haven’t tried Samba before it’s best to focus on learning the feet first, before introducing the arm movements.

We have kept the routine relatively simple, so there is plenty of repetition. Those that have been learning with us a while are welcome to practice their Samba technique to really up the intensity.

The Music

The music we’ve chosen for this Samba routine is Preza by Flooaw. We feel it had an easy to follow beat and wasn’t too fast.

Once you’ve mastered the routine you can practice to the music without the aid of the video using the link below:
